It’s the simple, free thing you can do to support me to keep doing this.
It also means you’ll get sent all my new emails, and that you can explore the publication archives.
Who am I?
I’m Stuart Semple, an artist and writer. This is where I share my long-form thoughts.
I’ve been in the art scene for 25 years now, and I’ve been writing about art for 20 years of that. Stuff I’ve written has been published in The Guardian, Huffington Post, Artlyst, and I wrote a regular monthly column for Art of England Magazine for several years.
My first book is out now, everywhere you get your books. It’s called ‘Make Art Or Die Trying’, and it’s published by Quarto.
I’m fascinated by access to the arts, colour, artists and art history.
And the impact of art and creativity on our well-being and mental health.
I’ve spoken about that at the National Gallery, Frieze, Southbank Centre, Oxford Union. The Royal College of Art. ICA. Denver Art Museum, etc.
Thank you for being here.
